Commercial Real Estate Intern

Position Description

Perform tasks that encompass the entire investment acquisition cycle some of which include the following.

  • Investment feasibility on commercial real estate multifamily investment offerings.
  • Prepare investment offerings, business plans and pro forma investment projections.
  • Proficient understanding of commercial real estate feasibility metrics such as IRR, ROI, NOI, Cap Rates, DCR.
  • Provide support for all investor relations activities that build their database and enhance the experience with existing investors.
  • Research and identify U.S. markets that rank the highest in job and population growth plus demand for rental housing.
  • The Intern will report to the CEO and support the overall Team.

Experience & Requirements:

Possess or have the willingness to learn about both the details and big picture around CRE investing that covers:

  • CRE investment analytical tools, i.e. investment models, pro forma forecasting, IRR, ROI, NOI, cap rates, equity multiples and DCR
  • Equity capital markets
  • Asset performance and business planning
  • Research, data analytics and forecasting
  • Proficient at using Microsoft Office Suite applications of Excel, Power Point, Word, etc. and video conferencing tools like Zoom, WebEx, etc.
  • Strong communications and presence both verbally, over the phone and in-person. Solid writing skills.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s, Graduate’s or higher degree

About the Role:

  • The Commercial Real Estate Intern will have the unique opportunity to gain a full understanding of the commercial real estate investing cycle that includes: raising equity capital, identifying investments, performing feasibility analysis, drafting buy offers or Letters of Interest, performing due diligence, financing, legal entity structures, property management, asset business planning and research.
  • This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated self-starter possessing strong interest in learning about investing as a way to enhance the financial well-being of others through a fundamental asset such as rental housing. Plus, it is a great opportunity to develop their overall, business acumen and leadership skills.
  • Working options are flexible that involve hybrid, remote and in-person arrangements.
  • Compensation shall be competitive with the current market based on experience.
  • The Intern’s role shall be as an independent contractor.
